2008 Capital District Convention Aug 14-17, 2008: A "Prescription for Success": Still Time to Sign-Up!

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August 14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at the Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center, just a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year's theme is "Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights-not to be missed-is Friday night's Birthday Party at the Marriott to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention. Key Club International Activities

Sunday began the whirlwind fun time. The Capital District left early Sunday morning or Canon Springs and white water rafting. One group wanted to paddle so we found 7 willing Key Clubbers and one deranged adult and they were the only raft that actually padded for the trip. more

Charlottesville Kiwanis 5K Race Supports Camp Holiday Trails

The 25th running of the Kiwanis Independence Day 5K race was a big success. More than $6,000 will go directly to support the efforts of Camp Holiday Trails, a camp for children with special health needs. For the first time young CHT campers were among the 242 participants, who ranged in age from 5 up to 82. more
