Governor Art Riley and First Lady Vickie Visit Southwest Region

It's a long trip from Westminster, MD to the far corner of the Capital District's Southwest Region, but Governor Art and his wife, Vickie, spent the weekend prior to Thanksgiving doing just that -- as part of their official visits to Region 2, 3 and 8. By all measures, the trip was a success. more

A Time To Re-Focus

First, personally and on behalf of my family, I thank all of my Kiwanis family for your thoughts and prayers after learning of my sister's passing. Second Key Leader Weekend Set for April 2008

The second Capital District Key Leader Weekend has been approved by Kiwanis International. This outstanding student service leadership training will be held April 25 - 27, 2008 at the Arlington Echo Camp facility near Millersville, MD. more


Bethesda Clubs Supports Wounded

Providing support to families of our wounded military is the newest service project undertaken by the Kiwanis Club of Bethesda. The Fisher House Program at Bethesda Naval Hospital, a unique private-public partnership, provides "a home away from home" that enables family members of the military to be close to a loved one at the most stressful time - during hospitalization for an illness, disease, or injury. more

Combat Wounded Warrior Program

The Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg gathered the contents and assembled 100 "well" kits containing personal items such as deodorant, combs, shampoo, soap, clothing and books that will be distributed to soldiers who have been wounded in combat in Iraq. more
