E-Builder March 04: The club has been cleaning a Virginia Beach street for over 11 years In 2002, the club received a 10-year Achievement Award and in 2003 a Certificate of Distinction for nine or more cleanups. The assigned street gets cleaned on a monthly basis, picking up over 480 pounds of trash.

(From Oct 2005, E-Builder) Pembroke Kiwanis is gearing up for the Club’s 5K Race November 5th at Virginia Beach’s Town Center for the first year of this 11th annual event Sponsorships are already in the double digit zone, and the race is generating a lot of interest from both merchants and club members alike Club member David Bogart, Apex Technologies, signed on early as the Presenting Sponsor Additionally, the Club helped to make another successful year at the 31st Neptune Festival on the boardwalk the weekend of September 30th with its beer tent

(E-Builder, Dec 2005) Pembroke Kiwanis’ first Town Center 5K was a great success Presenting sponsors Dick’s Sporting Goods and Apex Technologies (owned by Kiwanian David Bogart) along with several other sponsors provided the dynamics for the club bringing in over $8000 in profit from the event Club member and Past President Bob Miller, MSA, PC announces one of the winners with Virginia Beach’s Mayor, the honorable Meyera Oberndorf The one mile Kids Fun Run brought out even the very young to Virginia Beach’s Town Center for the Pembroke Kiwanis fund raiser held November 5th Pembroke Kiwanis also held its annual Clasp Bingo in November for people with over 150 special persons, including the Special Olympics athletes and members of Kiwanis’ Action Club
