by Samantha Staebell, CDCKI Editor

CKI Members are just like any other member of the Kiwanis family, except of course, we are crazy college students! But, you would be surprised to know that we are not as different as you think. Lana Borgis, a member of the Circle K International Club at Christopher Newport University, speaks to Kiwanians attending the 2008 Kiwanis Hampton Roads Region Mid-Winter Conference at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., on March 1. Borgis is lieutenant governor for CKI's Capital District, which includes Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Warwick Kiwanis Club member Ann Barber, better known to children as Mrs. Wishy-Washy, reads to pre-school, kindergarten and first-grade students at Sanford Elementary School in Newport News, Va., on Feb. 29 as part of Kiwanis International's "Read Around the World" project. In addition to hearing a good story, each child received a homemade book in which they could write their own story about Mrs. Wishy Washy's. The children also received stickers to decorate their books. Stacey Paull, Sanford's reading teacher, helped to coordinate the visit from Mrs. Wishy Washy.
