Kiwanis Club of Poquoson Inducts Six New Members
by Joe Discenza
The Kiwanis Club of Poquoson has begun holding monthly dinner meetings, in addition to its regular weekly breakfasts, gathering at Anna's Pizza, 464 Wythe Creek Road, at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month.
At the March 18 meeting, club president Walt Burns and membership chairman Bob Kerlinger together inducted six new members into the club. The club's board of directors has also approved new member Jim Crawford but he was unable to attend. This brings the Poquoson organization's membership to 115.
Burns told the new members, "You are full members of our club. Even though you only come to one meeting a month we look forward to your contributions and we hope to see all of you at our community service projects and social events."
"This new meeting schedule is designed to attract new members whose regular schedule does not permit attendance at a morning meeting, especially our Poquoson school teachers," Kerlinger added.
