Ashland Club Plans 40th Annual BBQ Event: And You're Invited!
by Edwin R. Hutchinson, Jr.
For the past 39 years, the Kiwanis Club of Ashland has held an annual barbecue in the fall as its major fund-raiser for the year. For the 40th annual barbecue, to be held on Saturday, September 17 from 4 - 7 PM just north of Ashland, a special component will be the addition of the Club's classic car show. Classic cars and custom hot rods and trucks will be on site for viewing and discussing with their owners from 10 AM to 6:30 PM.
The $25 adult admission ($30 for adults at the gate; $10 for children 7 - 12) includes admission to the classic car show, a delicious BBQ dinner (the BBQ's made from scratch) with all the trimmings, your choice of beverages, live music, door prizes and games for the children. According to event chair John McDaniel, "this is a wonderful event for the entire family, and we hope you will join us." View the event flyer for more details.
The barbecue and classic car show will be held rain or shine. Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.ashlandkiwanisbbq-evitefrnd.eventbrite.com. Additional details about the event may be found at the Club's web site, www.ashlandvakiwanis.org.
