Aug 20-22: District Convention Update

Lynchburg, Virginia will again be the site of Kiwanis’ Capital District Convention on August 20 through August 22, 2010. The Lynchburg Club is the host club with members of the Fort Hill club joining in planning for the convention. The Holiday Inn located in the historic downtown area will be convention headquarters. The area has undergone significant revitalization work since the last convention in 2002, with new art galleries, a children’s museum, a new riverfront park and several new restaurants within walking distance of the Holiday Inn. A special all-you-can eat Shrimp and Barbeque Night is planned for Friday evening and a trip to Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest retreat is available for those not participating in convention workshops.
