Bethesda
Club Holds Golf Tournament
by Shira Oler
For 35 years, the Kiwanis Club of Bethesda has held a Golf Tournament to benefit local children's charities. Players enjoy golf at its very best while they support our community. The Club takes great pride in sponsoring one of the oldest continuous Golf Tournaments in Montgomery County to raise funds for Bethesda Cares, Bethesda Youth Services of the YMCA, Caithness House, Camp Friendship, The Dwelling Place, High School Senior Youth Scholarships at three high schools (Montgomery Blair, Walter Johnson, and Walt Whitman), Imagination Stage, Lazarus Leadership Program, Montgomery County Recreational Programs, Rebuilding Together Montgomery County, Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents (RICA), and Suburban Hospital's Pediatric Center. Chair of the Golf Tournament, Bob Quinn, stated, "We now have more than 60 golfers and there's still room for more. If you don't golf, you can support the event by attending the dinner and silent auction." The date is Friday, September 12 at Bretton Woods, 15700 River Road, Germantown, Maryland. Tee off is at 1:00 pm and the dinner and silent auction begins at 6:30 pm. For questions or information, contact Bob Quinn, Tournament Director, at 301-217-6450 or RPQuinn40541@aol.com.
