Yorktown Middle School Builder's Club is all Heart! Students in Yorktown Middle School's (YMS) Builder's Club put their artistic skills to work for the residents at the York Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center. Creating beautiful handmade greeting cards, students worked with the goal of bringing a Valentine's Day smile to the faces of Convalescent Center residents. Sponsored by the Grafton Kiwanis Club, YMS Builder's Club provides opportunities for students to give back to the community.
Tabb High School's Key Club, in York County, collected more than 100 used and new coats in January to donate to community members in need. Key Club members counted, sorted and boxed the coats they collected before they took them to the main collection site. The Tabb Key Club is sponsored by the Tabb Kiwanis Club.
The Kiwanis Club of the Peninsula at Oyster Point is a partner in education with Palmer Elementary School in Newport News. This month the club participated in the Terrific Kids awards program at the school. Phil Keator (pictured) represented the club at this event.
Also, note that the Club has moved its meetings to Kelly's Tavern in Port Warwick in midtown Newport News. Pictured is club President Dawn Westmoreland with our new sign.
