2009-10 Capital District Distinguished Member Awards
by PG John Tyner
The Annual Distinguished Kiwanian Recognition Program was started 25 years ago as an opportunity for the District to recognize those Kiwanians who demonstrated an ongoing and consistent involvement with their club's activities and with the goals of the District. We recognized 80 Kiwanians for their efforts during that premier 1985-86 Administrative Year. And now, 25 years later, only one of those original members has maintained that status ever since: Past Governor Joe Hillier. Right behind him with 24 years is Past Governor John Tyner.
This year we had only 25 members take part in this award program, including 12 members who are receiving their First Year Award. These certificates and "walking person" pins will be presented by Immediate Past Governor Don Dudey at their home regional midwinter conferences. So if your name is on this list, see him for your award.
