A Secret You Did Not Know
by Jack White, Chair, Capital District Growth Team

The Growth Team’s much-discussed Grundy CD tells about the spectacular success this Southwest Virginia Kiwanis Club had with its recent Membership Night program. But did you know Grundy tried the same thing two years ago and all but failed. What made the difference the second time? I answer that question in my new Monday Morning Message. Reverend David Herr Honored
by David Landis

Luckily the Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines/ Ocean City has the benefit of the Reverend David Herr being a member and serving as the club's chaplain. For the past couple of weeks he was not in attendance, but away at the Wesley Theological Seminar in Washington , D.C. honing his pastoral care skills. He wrote a paper at the seminar and was observed practicing his skills for which Magna Cum Laude honors in addition to the top award for Pastoral Care were bestowed upon him. The Reverend Herr is the pastor of the Methodist Church in Powellville and by charter also administers to churches in Friendship and Mt. Pleasant, MD. His congregation and the Kiwanis Club are lucky to have him. Pictured are Reverend David Herr on the left and Kiwanis Club of Greater OP/OC President, Ed Schaefer on the right, starting the weekly meeting at the Country Club in Ocean Pines with a prayer.
