Club Hold Car Wash
by Millie Kriemelmeyer
The Spring Dell Center Aktion Club, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Waldorf, held their annual car wash on July 25. For four hours, about a dozen Aktion Club members, their Advisor Candice Ogden, and one Mom, performed cleansing miracles. They used plenty of water and good cleaning compounds, but the main ingredient of success was elbow grease. They scrubbed and rubbed in time with rock and roll from the radio. Customers came from advertising widely by email and signs in the La Plata area and to the three Charles County Kiwanis Clubs. The hard work brought about $150 in donations to the service budget. After the exhausting morning in the heat, the ice cream truck was a welcome sight. Everyone enjoyed the cooling treats, sitting in the shade, basking in another job well done.

The Growth Team’s much-discussed Grundy CD tells about the spectacular success
this Southwest Virginia Kiwanis Club had with its recent Membership
Night program. But did you know Grundy tried the same thing
two years ago and all but failed. What made the difference
the second time? I answer that
question in my new Monday Morning Message.
