Kiwanis Club of WoodbridgeSponsors Two Thanksgiving Dinners
by Al Knehans
As in previous years, the Kiwanis Club of Woodbridge, Virginia, sponsored two Thanksgiving Dinners for its senior citizens. The Club provided $600 to purchase the necessary items for the two dinners. These were very worthwhile events, that brought grateful satisfaction from those who participated.
The dinner at the Woodbridge Senior Citizen's Center was held at noon on Thursday, November 18. Six members from the Woodbridge Club, plus 5 members from the NOVA, Woodbridge Campus, CKI Club, helped serve the meal and cleanup afterwards. The CKi Club also agreed to help help the Center with several Christmas events during December. Many of the senior citizens personally came by and thanked us for providing the meal.
The second dinner was held at the Woodbridge Senior Day Care Program at the Ferlazzo Building on Tuesday, November 23, at noon. This was a catered event that was partly paid for by a $600 donation from Woodbridge Club. Again, the senior citizens were very thankful for getting this special meal.
