Fighting to Save Children in Africa
Recently
the Capital District Board of Trustees voted to discontinue
the printed version of the Capital Builder. This decision
comes on the heels of a recent survey to which many club
members responded with some excellent arguments both
for and against doing away with the Capital Builder...Tinsel,
Tree, and Trimmings: Kiwanis Club of Toano

When Deane Gaston asked
her neighbors of Colonial Heritage to help support "Tinsel, Trees, and Trimmings" by adopting some of the 50 families, she had no idea that this would touch the
hearts of so many neighbors. The "Block Captains" of Colonial Heritage got organized and collected over $3,800, enabling them
to buy gifts for approximately 75 children (37 families).
Some are also buying food to help with Christmas dinner.
We are overwhelmed with their generosity and desire
to help. Deane Gaston, Joyce Craig, and Terry Sweaney
