Toano
Club Recognizes Veterans
by Joyce Craig
On November 11, Veterans
Day, the Veterans of The Kiwanis club of Toano were
honored with individual military service plaques, made
by John Walrath. John designed a plaque specifically
for each person with name, branch of service, insignia,
and years served. John and Terry Sweaney presented
the plaques. Thank you, John, for your generous gift,
and thank you to our veterans for your dedication and
service to our country. Pictured are: Row 1, Left to
right: Jaime Jeffers, Navy, 6 years; Kevin Onisuk,
Army, 4 years; Mayes Mathews, Navy, 20 years; Deane
Gaston, accepting for David Gaston, Air Force, 4 years.
Row 2, Left to right: Bill Forloine, Air Force, 4 years;
Bert Geddy, Navy, 6 years; Bill Craig, Air Force, 11
years; Ralph Frye, Air Force, 22 years.
