Botetourt Club/Education Center Charity Partnership Marks 20 Years

Thanksgiving 2008 marks the twentieth anniversary of a special relationship between the Kiwanis Club of Botetourt, the students at Botetourt Technical Education Center, and more than 600 grateful people in Botetourt County. For the past two decades, the students and members of the community service organization have joined together to help make Thanksgiving and Christmas brighter holidays by collecting and buying food to present to needy individuals and families in the County...more

Harrisonburg Club Honor Vets

The Harrisonburg Kiwanis Club held a special Veteran's Day Celebration on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008. The event included recognition of the veterans who are members of the club: Roger F. Davis, Zebrum S. "Dick" Dickerson, James A. "Jim" Gilchrist, Gerald Lincoln, Frank Lion, Thomas B. NcNeill, Sr., Joe B. Morton, Jr., Gus Parker, William B. Pond, Julian M. Quarles, Jr., William M. Sanders, Earl R. Spillman, Glenn Weatherholtz, and Tom Womble. The keynote speech was given by the Rep. Bob Goodlatte, Virginia House of Delegates. Pictured club Pres. Jim Barnes listens to Rep. Bob Goodlatte.
