by Glynnis Schmidt
You are cordially invited to participate in the 5th Annual St. Mary's Kiwanis Family Greenwell State Park Clean-Up Day and Welcome Back Picnic for Service Leadership Programs. The event will take place Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Greenwell State Park in Hollywood, Maryland. Cleanup begins at 9:00 a.m., with picnic lunch to follow at 12:00 noon.
This event is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of St. Mary's County. It is a great interclub opportunity for all levels of the Kiwanis family! Clean up work typically consists of planting trees, mulching, pruning, maintaining wheelchair accessible nature trails, maintaining flower beds, etc. No special skills or tools are required, but please bring work gloves and wear comfortable clothing, sturdy shoes, and sun screen. A picnic lunch is provided to all volunteers in appreciation of their efforts to help maintain the park, and to welcome back students in Kiwanis Service Leadership Programs who are returning for a new year of service, leadership and fellowship.
