LaPlata Club YCPO Project: Blankets!
by Judy Gorney
On July 8th the Kiwanis Club of LaPlata met to work on a "Young Children: Priority One" project. We chose to make double-sided fleece tag blankets to give to children who will have an extended stay at Civista Medical Center, our local hospital. In attendance were club members, Judi Gorney, Linda Parong, Emily Ferren, Linda Kandel, Dawn Roach, her daughter, Courtney Roach, Melody Stahl, her daughter, Chelsea Stahl, who is LaPlata High School's Key Club President, and Terri Osborne. Working together, we made eight blankets that will undoubtedly help to comfort some children. As you can see from the pictures, it was a successful project. We will be presenting the blankets to a Civista Medical Center representative at a future meeting.
