Each Spring, Mt. Airy Kiwanis dedicates a Saturday morning to help school partner, TwinRidge Elementary give their landscaping and flower beds a Spring makeover. The work day usually consists of pulling weeds, doing any needed transplanting and new planting, and finally, edging and mulching all the beds. This year, the event was held on the first Saturday in May and a strong turnout of club members was joined by a large and welcome turnout of parents, children, school personnel and cub scouts. The result was a fun morning of shared labor and service that produced beautiful results and a strong sense of partnership between the club, the school and all who participated.
