by Ken Price
The Kiwanis Club of Lynchburg celebrated its 89th birthday with over forty members and guests present to sing Happy Birthday and enjoy a birthday cake. The Club was officially organized on January 14, 1920, and the charter was presented to twenty-eight charter members on January 29th.
The
Club also recognized and honored with a certificate
and pin twenty-two members of the Legion
of Honor. The Legion of Honor consists of
those who have been members twenty-five years
or more. Fourteen of the twenty-two were
present to receive awards from Lieutenant
Governor John Montgomery and District Trustee
